Judge Off the Bench for Meddling in Prosecution of Daughter’s Softball Coach

July 13th, 2010

A Nebraska judge who was an assistant coach for his daughter’s softball team has been ejected from the bench for trying to thwart the prosecution of the team’s head coach, who had pleaded no contest to charges that she stole about $900 from her school’s booster club. The state Supreme Court concluded that Judge Kent Florom also had interfered in a juvenile case involving one of the team’s players.
